How to Assemble The Rubber Track?
1. Preparation and Safety
Park the machine on a flat, stable surface and engage the parking brake.
Relieve track tension using the tension release valve (if equipped).
Clean the undercarriage to remove debris that could interfere with installation.
2. Remove the Old Track (if replacing)
Use a hydraulic jack to lift the machine slightly, taking weight off the track.
Loosen the track tensioner fully to slacken the track.
Carefully roll or pry the old track off the sprocket, idlers, and rollers.
3. Align the New Track
Check the track direction (marked with arrows on the rubber) to ensure it matches the machine’s drive rotation.
Lay the new track flat in front of the machine, aligning it with the sprocket and rollers.
4. Install the Rubber Track
Thread the track: Start by looping the track around the sprocket at the rear. Use pry bars or a rubber mallet to guide the track onto the idlers and rollers.
Lubricate the track: Apply soapy water or silicone spray to reduce friction and ease installation.
Join the track ends (if split):
For continuous tracks: Carefully stretch the track over the idlers and sprocket.
For split tracks: Align the connecting hinges and secure with bolts or pins as specified.
5. Adjust Track Tension
Use the tensioning system (hydraulic or grease cylinder) to apply tension gradually.
Check the manufacturer’s recommended tension specs (usually measured as sag between top rollers).
Over-tensioning can damage the track; under-tensioning causes slippage.
6. Check Alignment
Rotate the track manually (if possible) to ensure it sits evenly on all rollers and sprockets.
Verify there’s no sideways drift or misalignment.
7. Test Operation
Lower the machine and start the engine.
Move the machine slowly forward/backward to test track movement.
Recheck tension and alignment after initial use.
8. Final Inspection
Look for twists, gaps, or uneven wear.
Ensure all bolts (for split tracks) are tightened to torque specs.
